Four St. Mary's Academy seniors have been named 2013 National Merit Scholarship Program Finalists, ranking in the top 1 percent of all U.S. high schoolers taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

Approximately 15,000 finalists will continue in the competition for some 8,300 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $32 million that will be offered this spring. That exclusive group will include Kate Brouns, Nan Campbell, Karen Myers and Julia Renner.
"Our St. Mary's students continue to amaze me," said Patricia Barr, St. Mary's Academy principal. "They are excited to learn both inside and outside the classroom. They strive to meet their full potential."
