Women in crisis pregnancies and families yearning to adopt, or who have adopted, were the beneficiaries of some good works this week at Central Catholic High School.

Scores of students, parents, teachers, staff and supporters came forward to give gifts for Catholic Charities’ Pregnancy Support and Adoption Services Program. Then volunteers formed a human chain to get the gifts from the school out to a bus for transport.

The gifts went to families at the program's annual Christmas party.  Students from Central Catholic were on hand to participate and serve at the gathering.

The folks from Central Catholic also filled a 28-foot trailer truck with food, blankets and coats to be distributed by the St. Vincent de Paul food depot and the Downtown Chapel’s outreach programs. The school then sent a check for $5,776  to The Downtown Chapel, money raised through the students' penny drive and the faculty-staff holiday bazaar.
