Discaled Carmelite Sister Marie Therese of Jesus Crucified died May 29. She was 91.

Born Feb. 18, 1922, in Sioux Falls, S.D., to Joseph and Hazel Seubert, she attended Cathedral grade and high school in Sioux Falls. She then went on to attend Rosary College in River Forest, Ill., where she graduated with a degree in library science. She worked as a librarian at Notre Dame University. After relocating to California, she worked as a librarian at the University of San Francisco. In 1945, she entered the Carmelite Monetary in Sacramento, and made her final profession of vows in 1950. In 1983, she transferred to the Carmel of Maria Regina in Eugene, where she served in many roles, including as librarian.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at the monestary on June 3.
