ASTON, Pa. — Franciscan Sister Marie Adele Crettol died June 30. She was 86.

A professed member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia for 68 years, she was born in Wasco, Calif. She graduated from St. Joseph Academy in Pendleton and entered the congregation in 1943 and professed her first vows in 1945. Sister Marie She earned bachelor’s degree in education from Holy Name College in Spokane and a master’s degree in education from the University of Oregon. She served in education, congregational ministry, and parish ministry.

From 1978 to ’85, she was assistant provincial for the former Sacred Heart Province, which was based in Portland. She is survived by her sister, Alice Frank; nieces and nephews; and her Franciscan family.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at St. Ann Convent in Tacoma, Wash.
