Holy Names Sister Jane Snodgrass (Petronille Marie) died March 17. She was 88.

Born Feb. 8, 1926, in Portland to Floyd and Leona Warmuth Snodgrass, she lived most of her early life in St. Ignatius Parish, graduating from the parish elementary school. After graduating from St. Mary’s Academy, she worked for the Army in the transportation department before joining the Sisters of the Holy Names in 1945.  Sister Petronille Marie, as she was then known, earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Marylhurst University and spent the next 40 years teaching primary school children, mostly in Spokane and Portland parish schools.

She is survived by her brother Jack; nieces and nephews; and her Religious Sisters.
