Holy Names Sister Annette Marie (Angela Elizabeth) Valiquette died Aug. 8. She was 95.

Sister Annette Marie was born in Mullan, Idaho, to John Jerome and Angela Parent Valiquette. Her family moved to Seattle and she attended Holy Names Academy. In 1935, she entered the Holy Names novitiate. In 1945, she received a nursing degree from Providence Hospital School of Nursing in Seattle. Sister Annette Marie worked as a nurse at Marylhurst College, Holy Names College and Holy Names Academy. In 1955, she received a bachelor’s degree from Seattle University.

She spent more than 20 years as the head nurse in the Marylhurst Care Center. In 1962, with the division of the Oregon province, Sister Annette Marie went to Washington and there she assumed the same position in their Care Center. After retirement, she lived and served in Mississippi until returning to Spokane and, eventually, Mary’s Woods.

She is survived by her sister, Marie; nieces and nephews; and her religious community.
