Sharon Marie Spriggs-Flanders died April 25. She was 52.

Mrs. Spriggs-Flanders was born Feb. 25, 1962, in Columbus, Ohio, to Carol Hutchison Spriggs and Walter Spriggs. She attended All Saints School and graduated from La Salle College Prep in 1980. She graduated from Oregon State University in 1984. She married Paul Flanders in 1992 at All Saints Parish. She continued her studies at Mount Angel where she earned a master’s of theology in 1999. Sharon taught at St. Mary's Academy and LaSalle High School; served as pastoral associate at St. Paul Parish in Silverton for two years; and worked two years as director of Catholic campus ministry at the Newman Center at OSU.

She worked for the last 20 years as the developmental disability program manager at Wallowa Valley Center for Wellness in Enterprise. In 2002, she and her husband purchased the Grace Prairie ranch, north of Enterprise.

She was preceded in death by her mother Carol, in 1998. She is survived by her husband, Paul; father, Walt; sisters, Linda and Sue; brother, Dan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass and celebration of Sharon's life is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, July 5, at the Wallowa County Fairgrounds. Contributions in her memory may be made to a cancer foundation of your choice.
