Michael (Mike) Adams died July 12. He was 88.

Mr. Adams was born May 30, 1926 in Charleston, Ark., to Nick and Annie Adams. The family moved to Canute, Okla., in 1929. He graduated from Holy Family High School in 1944 and joined the Navy, serving in the South Pacific during World War II. He moved to Stayton in 1947 and married Betty Rice in 1950. He started Mike Adams Construction Co. in 1954.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Paul, Maurice, Albert, William, Eugene, Raymond, Marie and Rita.  He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty; children, Jane (Ted) Lulay, Stayton, Kenneth (Janna) Adams, Stayton, and Elaine (Carl Jr.) Blish, Aumsville; 16 grandchildren; and siblings, Clarence Adams, Stayton, and Leo Adams, Elk City, Okla., and Teresa Word, Elk City.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 17, at Immaculate Conception Church in Stayton. Memorial donations can be made to Regis High School or St. Mary Elementary School.
