Mary (Kruger) Olson died May 10. She was 65.

Mrs. Olson was born April 29, 1949, in Salem to William and Violet Kruger. She graduated in 1967 from Serra HIhg School and went on to Oregon State University. She started working at US Bank in Portland in 1971 as a teller and left in 1990 as a vice president in corporate banking. In 1991, she co-founded Norris Olson and Associates. She served as a commissioner for the Port of Portland, 2001-’11, and was appointed to the Oregon Department of Transportation Commission, 2010-‘13.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Bill Kruger. She is survived by her son, Brent, step-daughter, Natanee, and sisters, Janet Klosterman, Susan Wilson, Elaine Young, Judy Jacobs and Teresa Brown.

A service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, May 19, at St. John the Apostle Church in Oregon City. Memorial contributions can be made to the Rita McGrath Science Scholarship at La Salle High School.
