Mary “Mickie” Ellen Dowhaniuk died March 3. She was 75.

Mrs. Dowhaniuk was born Aug. 9, 1938, in Minnesota. Her family moved to Portland and she attended Immaculata Academy graduating in the class of 1956.  After school she worked as a business secretary. She married Harry Dowhaniuk and was a homemaker while her children were young. Later she returned to work at Pendleton Woolen Mills as a customer service representative, retiring in 2001.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2000; parents, Samuel and Josephine; and brothers, Jim and Richard Finley. She is survived by her brother, Tim Finley; children, Beth (Mark) Harding, Ron Dowhaniuk (Julie), Cathy (Raymond) Gross and Carl Dowhaniuk (Dena); 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m., followed by a Mass and a reception to follow on Saturday, March 29, at St. Joseph the Worker Church. Memorial donations can be made to the Children’s Miracle Network.
