Marie Petrone, a member of St. Ignatius Parish, died April 18. She was 97.

Mrs. Petrone was born Sept. 4, 1916, in Trabia, Italy. She came to the United States when she was 5. She attended Commerce High School, and worked as a medical secretary until she married Victor Petrone. She was a homemaker when her children were young, and worked at Lipman’s department store later.

She was preceded in death by her husband, and children, Carolyn Haller and Louie Bondy. She is survived by her children, Robert Petrone, Seattle, and Rosalie Sedivy, Vancouver, and sons-in-law Don Haller and Glen Sedivy; three grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Thursday, May 8, at St. Ignatius, followed by a reception in Dillon Hall. Memorial donations can be made to Meals on Wheels- Belmont Center, 4610 SE Belmont, Portland, OR 97215.
