TIGARD — Margaret Elinor (Madden) Rickman, a member of St. Anthony Parish, died Sept. 8. She was 94.

Mrs. Rickman was born Sept. 17, 1917, in Butte, Mont. She attended elementary school in Townsend, Mont., and graduated from St Vincent Academy in Helena, Mont., in 1935. She attended Helena Business College and was later employed by the USF&G Insurance Company in Helena until her marriage to Harold Rickman in 1937. The family moved from Helena to Butte, Mont,in 1957 where she worked as a homemaker and for 10 years as an instructional aid in several of the local grade schools. She also served for 30 years as a correspondence team leader for the Cardinal Nicolas CUSA Organization, a letter writing support program to assist the disabled and chronically ill. She and her husband moved to Tigard in 1978.

After her husband's death in 2003, she remained in Summerfield until moving to Canyon Lakes Manor in Kennewick Wash. She became a member of Christ the King Church in Richland, Wash.

She was preceded in death by a grandson and great-granddaughter. She is survived by her sons, Ronald (Tarcella), Rickman, Davenport, Iowa and John (Mary Pat) Rickman, Portland; daughter, Barbara (Joseph) Sutey, Kennewick; 12 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
