Loa Norma McDonald, a longtime member of the Madeleine Church, died Sept. 14. She was 94.

Mrs. McDonald was born Nov. 10, 1917, in Portland. She graduated from Franklin High School and Portland Business College. She worked as a dental assistant until she became a full-time homemaker.
She is predeceased by her first husband, Richard Swanson, during World War II and her second husband, Dr. Paulinus McDonald, in 1977. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Loa Marie McDonald. She is survived by her children Gregg Swanson, Norma Allen, James McDonald, Colleen McDonald Imbert and Maureen McDonald, all of Portland, John McDonald, Everett, Wash., Kevin McDonald, Coronado, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

A rosary and funeral service will be held Friday, Sept. 21, at the Madeleine Church. Seminarian Scott Baier will lead the rosary at 9:30 a.m., and Father Mike Biewend will celebrate the Mass at 11 a.m. Memorial donations can be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, Portland.
