Lillian White Crom died Oct. 23. She was 89.

Mrs. Crom was born March 24, 1923, in Wilkeson, Wash. She and her family moved to Vancouver in 1937, and she graduated from Vancouver High School in 1939. She married James Crom in 1948. During these years, she continued her Federal Civil Service career, first with the U.S. Army and then in Albany, at the Bureau of Mines; the National Park Service during the establishment of the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site; and the Visitor Center construction and restoration of the Hudson's Bay site. She completed her 30-year career at Bonneville Power Administration as a writer-editor in the office of Information and Public Relations. Following retirement, she returned to school to complete her degree, and in 1978 she graduated from Marylhurst. In 1993, they moved from Lake Oswego.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at Sacred Heart Church in Newport.
