Kenneth Biersteker died Sept. 5. He was 80.

Mr. Biersteker was born Jan. 23, 1932, in Sobieski, Wis. He graduated from Central Catholic High in Green Bay. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict. He married Lois Fraker in 1955, in Green Bay, Wis. He worked as a TV repairman in Wisconsin and also worked in maintenance for North Central Airlines. He owned his own firewood businesses in Douglas and Lane counties.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Diane Kniess, in 2002. She is survive by seven sons, David, Colorado Springs, Colo., Mark of Green Bay, Wis., John, Suffolk, Va., and Richard, Jerry, Stephen and Jeffrey, all of Veneta; three daughters, Joan Maynard, Roseburg, Brenda Hand, Hollister, Calif., and Sharon Murphy, Veneta; four brothers, Pete, Bruce, Patrick and Roger; three sisters, Lola, Nancy and Janet; 33 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A funeral was celebrated at St. Thomas Church in Veneta. Memorial donations can be made to St. Thomas Becket Academy Guardian Angel Fund in Veneta.
