Joseph McSweeny died Dec. 10. He was 93.

Mr. McSweeny was born Nov. 10, 1920, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. After high school and one year of business school, he served in the Royal Canadian Army from 1942-‘46, and later that year married Teresa Mary Leone. In 1952, they moved to the United States; Teresa died in 1972. He remarried twice and was preceded in death by both Juanita Riggins and Leona Bridget O'Brian. He worked in car sales most of his life, and retired from Wentworth Chevrolet's fleet sales division at 70.

He is survived by his son, Larry; daughters, Erin (John) Anderson and Kathleen McCallister; sister-in-law, Goldie McSweeney; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, Dec. 18, at Sacred Heart Church, with a recitation of the holy rosary preceding the Mass. Memorial donations can be made to The Grotto, the National Sanctuary of Our Sorrowful Mother, P.O. Box 20008, Portland, OR 97294.
