BLUE RIVER — Jimmy Kinkead died March 2. He was 83.

Mr. Kinkead was born April 12, 1928, in Montoya, N.M. He attended schools in Tucumcari, N.M., and graduated from New Mexico Military Institute. He served in the Marine Corps and in the Army. He married Rosemary Rhoten in Salem. He worked for New Mexico Military Institute, and then worked for El Paso Natural Gas before transferring to Southern Pacific Pipelines in Eugene.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Robinda Flaten. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Marshall, Zhanjiang, China, and Howard, Snyder, Texas; a daughter, Mary Gardiner, Ashland; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at noon Sunday, March 11, at St. Benedict Lodge in McKenzie Bridge. Memorial donations can be made to Sacred Heart Hospice, St. Benedict Lodge, McKenzie River EASE, or New Mexico Military Institute Foundation in Roswell, N.M.
