Janice Maureen McKenzie Morrisette died Nov. 24. She was 83.

Mrs. Morrisette was born July 19, 1930, in Helena, Mont., to Vivian Skinner and John Redmond McKenzie. She married William Morrisette in 1951 in Helena and they moved to Portland in 1954. They moved to Springfield in 1961. She attended Lane Community College and the University of Oregon from 1968-‘71. In the late ‘60s, she and her husband opened The Potlatch restaurant, which she managed. When the restaurant closed, she went to work for Meier & Frank for 14 years. When her husband was elected to the Oregon Legislature, she served as his office manager from 1998-2009.

She is survived by her husband Bill; brothers, David and Tom; sisters, Judy and Joyce; children, Pam (Tim), Chris (Benita), Lauri (Michael), Mark (Mary), Melissa (Paul), Michael (Prissi), Garth (Trina), Keira; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Alice Church in Springfield. Memorial donations can be made to Project Starfish in care of St. Vincent de Paul, 2890 Chad Drive, Eugene, OR 97408.
