VERBOORT — Henri Bernard Joyaux died Jan. 14.  He was 78.

Mr. Joyaux was born Aug. 4, 1934, San Luis Obispo, Calif. He was raised in Birmingham, Calif., and attended San Mateo High School, graduating in 1952. He served in the Army, and was honorably discharged after two years. He married Sandra McAllisten in 1958. They lived in Beaverton. She died in 1971. He married Patricia (Roshak) Christensen in 1972. They lived in Verboort.

He worked as an electronic design engineer. He worked for Ford and Lockheed Missile and Space Co. in California. He was a consultant for View Master, had been employed as director of engineering at Rogers Organ in Hillsboro and was also a lecturer at Portland Community College.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; two children, Chantelle Polito and Bernard Joyaux; five stepchildren, Gayle Verboort, Diane VanDomelen, Linda Christensen, Jeffrey Christensen, Carol Howarth; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A recitation of the rosary will start at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 18, followed by a funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m., at St. Anthony Church in Forest Grove.
