Gordon Hedman died Nov. 24. He was 92.

Mr. Hedman was born Feb. 22, 1921, in Astoria. He moved to Portland when he was a child and graduated from Cleveland High School, formerly known as Commerce High School. He continued his education at Oregon Polytechnic Vocation Institute, where he received an associate’s degree in bookkeeping and accounting. While attending night school, he worked for Meier & Frank as a delivery truck driver. He enlisted in the Army in 1940 and served during World War II.  He married Peggy Kelly in 1947. They lived in Portland until 1957, when they moved to Lake Oswego, where they resided for 36 years. He worked in agricultural chemical sales, starting at Wilbur-Ellis in 1954. He was originally hired as a bookkeeper and would advance in the company to the level of branch manager and district manager, retiring in 1985.

In 1993, he and Peggy moved to West Linn. Peggy died in 1998, and he married Ruth Hills in 2000. They moved to Tualatin in 2003, and Ruth died in 2012.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Hedman; second wife, Ruth Hedman; and son, Jeffrey Hedman. He is survived by his daughters, Robyn Steers, Beaverton; Melissa Hedman, Portland; and Christine McLawhorn, Plainfield, Ill.; brother, Arthur Hedman, Portland; sister, Aileen Clevinger, Portland; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Lake Oswego. Memorial donations can be made to Shriners Children's Hospital, USO and Our Lady of the Lake Parish School.
