Elsie Ernestine Jolivette died May 24. She was 85.

Mrs. Jolivette was born Oct. 16, 1927, in Marquam to Elmer and Ida (Zwahlen) Kleinsmith. She grew up on a farm in Molalla and graduated from Molalla High School in 1945. She moved to Portland and worked as a payroll clerk/switchboard operator for Western Condensing. She married Ronald Jolivette in 1949. They moved to Oregon City, and she worked at King Elementary School, first in the kitchen then as an instructional aide for 16 years and retired in 1987.

She is survived by her husband Ronald; children, Steven (Bonni), Panama City Beach, Fla., David (Kay), Washougal, Wash., Jeanne (Larry), Camas, Wash., Jennifer (Clyde), Milwaukie; and brother, Gene Kleinsmith (Pat), Mulino; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 1, at St. John the Apostle Church in Oregon City. A gathering will follow in the parish cafeteria. Memorial donations can be made to Shriners Hospital for Children or the Myelodysplasia Foundation.
