Eileen Antoinette (Moore) Sorensen died Jan. 30. She was 88.

Mrs. Sorensen was born Feb. 15, 1923, in Roy. The family moved to Portland in 1952. She entered the Maryknoll Sisters in New York and was known as Sister Eileen Mary. She was assigned to the Maryknoll Fathers Treasury Department in Ossining, N.Y., in 1955. In 1965, she received mission assignments to Quezon City in the Philippines. In late 1971, she left the Maryknoll Order and returned to Portland. In 1976, she married Leo Sorensen at St. Andrew Church. They moved to Aloha. She retired as accounting supervisor for Port of Portland in 1992.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2008; and siblings, P.G. (Mac) and Lawrence Moore and Mary Moore Caruso. She survived by her son, Ed Sorensen (Michele); and grandchildren; great-grandchild; and great-great-grandchild; and brothers, Joseph (Mary), Thomas (Mary Ellen) and John (Josephine) Moore.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 3, at St. Pius X Church.
