Bernard Allen Ekerson died Dec. 22. He was 90.

Mr. Ekerson was born Oct. 18, 1922, to Godfrey and Frances Ekerson in West Linn. He graduated from West Linn High School in 1940, and he worked for Columbia Aircraft. He served in the Army during World War II as a combat engineer from 1944-‘46. He married Helen Lorraine Latham in 1952. After the war, he hauled log rafts with tugboats through the locks at Oregon City. In 1961, he started working at Tektronix, until retirement in 1986.

He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Karen Dubord (Lyle), B.C., Canada, Jean Avison (Bill), Julie Doolittle (Mark), Tennessee; five sons, David (Julie), Jim (Jill), Jeff (Laura), Tom (Dawn), Michael; brother, Jon Michael Ekerson; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 29, at St. John the Apostle Church in Oregon City.
