Anthony “Tony” Gene McElfresh died Dec. 2. He was 60.

Mr. McElfresh was born May 22, 1953, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Taylor and Mary (Guilfoyle) McElfresh. He attended classes at Lane Community College studying audio and visual arts. He served in the Navy, and returned to work in forestry for many years in the Northwest. He married Wendy Lang in 1979, and they divorced in 1988. He retired from the forestry profession to drive a taxi in Eugene.

He is survived by a daughter, Bonnie McElfresh, Portland; son, Jonah McElfresh, Springfield; one grandson; two brothers, Steve McElfresh, Toulouse, France, and Jack McElfresh, Belair, Ohio; and two sisters, Rosalie McElfresh Bryant and Pam McElfresh Pitcher, both of Cincinnati.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Mary Church in Eugene. Memorial contributions can be made to Maryknoll Catholic Mission, PO Box 302, Maryknoll, NY.
