Ada Jacobson died April 5. She was 94.

Mrs. Jacobson was born Nov. 17, 1917, in Juneau, Alaska. She graduated from Juneau-Douglas High School in 1936 and then received her registered nursing degree from St. Peters Nursing School in Olympia, Calif. She served in the Army Nurses Corps during World War II. She married John Jacobson. She worked as a nurse at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eugene.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1974, and a granddaughter in 2007. She is survived by two daughters, Carol Reece, Salem, and Mary Jacobson, Albany; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 14, at St. Mary Our Lady of the Dunes Church in Florence. Memorial donations can be made to the Florence Human Society, Peace Harbor Home Health and Hospice or the Women’s Guild at St. Mary Our Lady of the Dunes Church.
