STAYTON — As Regis High celebrates 50 years, the cross country program celebrates 40 years. The Ram men return several key performers. Leading the way are seniors David Haren, who finished in the top 10 at the District 3 meet a year ago, and Brenden Gormley, a top 30 finisher at district.

They will be joined by junior Taylor Hill, top 20 at district, and sophomore Sam Nieslanik, also a top 20 performer a year ago. These four will be joined by sophomore Conner West and junior Jacob Adams. With 33 boys in the freshmen class there is likely some talent to round out the 2013 Ram squad.

The Regis women’s cross country team returns several runners from a team that just missed qualifying for the state meet a year ago. Leading the way will be senior Jodi May, a top 10 finisher at the district meet and junior Erica Stuckart, also a top 10 performer at district. Joining the Ram team will be seniors Sarah Tabor, Brianna Martinez, juniors Emily Warren and Haley Ballard, and sophomore Elish Gormley.

Teams to beat for both men and women will be Kennedy and East Linn Christian Academy.
