STAYTON — Regis High School has hired Tony Miller as the new boys basketball coach. Miller has coached boys and girls basketball at the 2A and 3A levels. He says he brings a defensive mentality with the motto, “Take one possession at a time.”  Returning coaching staff includes Gary Bielemeier, Chris Duman and Lawrence Silbernagel.

The Rams lost two players to graduation last year, but a strong senior group led by Victor and Daniel Rodriguez, Zach Gescher, Noah Fessler and Colby Moll, along with juniors Blake Minten, Paden Reynolds, Wyatt Keudell and Cody Trahan are returning.

Coaches have specific practice plans day in and day out. They say they will hold players accountable to execute in game situations and seek to form a connection that results in a unified flow on the hardwood.

It is important to be the best team on and off the court, they say.

“I am very excited and looking forward to the upcoming season,” says senior Colby Moll. “Working with such an amazing group of young men and helping them continue the great tradition of Regis basketball, is truly an amazing opportunity.”
