De La Salle wrestling enters its third season this year. Coaching staff say the program continues to grow and develop talent.

The team had a successful district tournament last year, with two wrestlers competing in the OSAA State Tournament at the Memorial Coliseum.

The team returns four varsity wrestlers including DeMarquis Cooper, Rafael Moreno, Tony Denfeld and Kevyn Gonzales. The team is young, with only two seniors returning this year. The team also returns eight junior varsity wrestlers who will be asked to fill roles as varsity wrestlers.

Coach Quincy Chance is focused on developing the talent (seven freshmen, six sophomores, nine juniors) as well as enhancing the abilities of his varsity wrestlers.

“As a team we have committed to year round weightlifting and speed agility and quickness training,” said Coach Chance.

“We look forward to competing in the Class 3A Special District One.”
