Central Catholic begins its 2013-’14 season with a new coaching staff and a different facility. First year head coach, Jill Black, is all who remains from previous seasons.  Coach Melanie Roberts joins the Rams as their junior varsity specialist. The team secured time at the PSU pool after Duniway Park closed last summer. Despite the changes, Coach Black is optimistic about the team’s season outlook.

The 2012-’13 season saw the boys go unbeaten in dual meets and finish second in the Mount Hood Conference. Two big point scorers are gone, one to graduation and one to relocation.  Fortunately, the Rams return the rest of their talented group:  Armani Dirks, Byron Rossmiller, Jack Ivory, and Tanner Symes.

Last year the girl’s team won a dual meet for the first time in several years with just nine girls on the roster. The focus this year is on increasing numbers. There are 26 girls on this year’s roster, 17 more than last season. Also, two state finalists are returning from last year — Casey Dumont and Felicia Anderson.
