Central Catholic claimed its third consecutive 6A volleyball title Sunday in a 3-0 victory over crosstown Catholic rival Jesuit. The Rams went 34-0 on the season, with 6-foot-1 senior outside hitter Martenne Bettendorf dominating much of the year.

Rick Lorenz, Central Catholic’s coach, has led teams to 31 state tournaments and now has 10 championships and eight second-place finishes.

In 3A, Valley Catholic and Blanchet Catholic squared off in the quarterfinals, with Blanchet Catholic winning then going on to lose in the semi-finals to eventual champion Burns.
