VATICAN CITY — To lighten his schedule as he prepares for his May 24-26 visit to the Holy Land, Pope Francis has postponed a planned May 18 pastoral visit to a popular Rome shrine.

Jesuit Father Federico Lombardi, Vatican spokesman, told reporters May 15 that Pope Francis was not ill or particularly tired, in fact he has a packed schedule of meetings with ambassadors, Mexican bishops making their "ad limina" visits and audiences with special groups.
