Play portraying Mary as lesbian protested
Led by their bishop, Catholics in the Charlotte, North Carolina, Diocese are protesting a newly opened play for its offensive portrayal of Mary as a lesbian and its mocking of the virgin birth.
“The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told” also retells the Creation story with two homosexual couples.
The theater company’s artistic director defended the play and refused to cancel it.
Catholics held a peaceful protest and prayed the rosary on the sidewalk in front of the theater and before the opening night performance.
