The third biennial archdiocesan youth pilgrimage walk will take place on Saturday, April 26.  The walk offers an opportunity for a faith-filled day of prayer, catechesis, music and community building. The pilgrimage walk is an event for high school and middle school aged students and their chaperones.  The six-mile walk is sponsored by the Archdiocesan Office for Youth and Young Adult Ministry.

The pilgrimage will begin at 10 a.m. with song and prayer at The Grotto (NE 85th and Sandy), and will end at St. Mary Cathedral.  Leaving The Grotto, the pilgrims will walk to Our Lady of Lavang Parish (5404 NE Alameda Dr.) for lunch, catechesis and music.  There will be priests available for participants to go to confession while at Our Lady of Lavang.   After lunch the walk will continue to St. André Bessett Parish, the Downtown Chapel, (NW 6th and Burnside) to drop off clothing donations for the poor.  The pilgrimage then proceeds to St. Mary Cathedral for a closing Mass to be celebrated by Archbishop Alexander Sample.

Youth wishing to participate in the pilgrimage walk should contact the youth ministry office of their parish for registration information.  The cost of the walk is $25 per person, which includes lunch and an event t-shirt.  Each parish will need to provide adequate chaperones for their group.  Parish groups should be registered by April 15th to ensure participants receive the event t-shirt and are included in the lunch count.  For more information, contact the local parish youth minister.
