MOUNT ANGEL — The Bendictine Sisters of Mount Angel got support from donors to renovate a former college residence hall into short-term housing for farmworker families and individuals. Ribbon cutting and tours of Casa Adele are set for 1 p.m.-2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 7.

The St. Joseph Shelter board, St. Mary Sister Marcella Parrish and Benedictine Sister Terry Hall helped move along the project, which began in September 2012.

The $2.23 million project converted the dormitory-type building into ten self-contained. Funding came from a variety of public and private sources. Casa Adele is named in honor of the late Benedictine Sister Adele Mansfield, co-founder of St. Joseph Shelter.
