MOUNT ANGEL — The 28th Annual Iconographic Arts Institute will take place June 20-28, 2014 at Queen of Angels Monastery here.   The Institute provides an opportunity to enter into a prayer-filled environment and explore the discernment of a call to the vocation of iconography.

Since the early 1980s, Catholic, Orthodox and other Christian believers have come together at the Institute to pray, study and work.  At beginner, intermediate and advanced levels, all students study orthodox iconography.

Participants deepen their faith via the spiritual, theological, and artistic elements of iconography.   Prayer, silence, simple meals and fellowship occur in a combination retreat/workshop within the cycle of the Divine Office and daily Mass.
