If it takes practice to get to Carnegie Hall, it also takes opportunity. In 2015, practice and opportunity will converge for a group of Marylhurst University students when they get the chance to sing in the famed New York City venue.

Members of the Marylhurst Chorale, comprised of Marylhurst music majors and students from other areas of study, will perform at Carnegie Hall Feb. 15, 2015, along with university choruses from throughout the country, under the direction of Justin Smith, Marylhurst’s director of choral activities. The combined choirs will join with a professional orchestra to perform Mozart’s “Solemn Vespers.”

“No question, 2014 is going to be a highly energizing year, preparing our choir to sing on such a prominent national stage,” Smith says.
